This seems like a silly problem but I can't figure out how to add users to forum user groups (as opposed to normal Combu user groups) via script. You can add them in the Combu admin panel, or set the group to default, you can also ban them. But how is a user added?

Sorry for the delay, for some reason I didn't receive the notification for your post so I totally missed it till now.
I'm doing some fixes in these days and updates on the forum add-on and I agree with you that it's probably a good idea to create a method allowing to add/remove the local user from forum user groups.
