Is there any way to make a clickable link in the text of a News post? I'd really like to have links in there, but don't see a way to do it.
There's a package on Asset Store called TextMesh Pro, it looks very interesting for styles and also hyperlinks. I didn't try it myself, but from the high number of positive reviews it seems to be very good.

I've got that...but how would we use that? You mean, convert the News GUI panel in the game to use TextMeshPro, and then use it's tags to embed hyperlinks?

Yes, since Unity UI.Text doesn't expose any method/event to handle clicks on words. This is one of the reasons why I'm still using NGUI framework for UI in my projects/jobs.
